My Roadmap to Learn Coding as a Beginner (Student Guide)
Introduction
Many students want to learn coding but feel confused about where to start. I was in the same situation. There are too many languages, too many videos, and too much advice online. So I decided to create a simple roadmap for myself and share it here to help other beginners like me.
This blog is mainly for students who want to learn coding step by step without getting overwhelmed.
Why I Want to Learn Coding
Coding is one of the most useful skills today. It helps in:
-
Problem-solving
-
Logical thinking
-
Building real-world projects
-
Creating career opportunities in tech
As a student, learning coding early gives a strong advantage for the future.
Step 1: Start With the Basics
Before jumping into advanced topics, it is important to understand the basics:
-
What is programming?
-
How does a computer work?
-
What is an algorithm?
I plan to start with C programming because it helps build strong fundamentals.
Step 2: Learn One Language Properly
Instead of learning many languages at once, I will focus on:
-
C programming basics
-
Variables, loops, conditions
-
Simple programs and logic building
Once the basics are clear, learning other languages becomes easier.
Step 3: Practice Daily
Coding is not just about watching videos. Practice is very important.
-
Write small programs daily
-
Try to solve simple problems
-
Learn from mistakes
Even 30–60 minutes daily is enough if done consistently.
Step 4: Learn Supporting Skills
Along with coding, I also want to learn:
-
Linux basics
-
How the internet works
-
Basic computer concepts
These skills help a lot in real-world tech learning.
Conclusion
This is the roadmap I am following as a beginner. I will keep updating my journey, sharing what I learn, and posting helpful resources on this blog. If you are also a beginner, you are not alone. We can learn step by step together.
